Question:For the most part they were farmers. The Cherokee were the most ammenable to european style agriculture. Quite a few of them married whites and undertook the process of buying lands and tending them as whites were wont to do.

Then of course they all were sold down the river after the War of 1812 by Andrew Jackson and driven from their lands and sent to live on reservations.
