Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers organized strikes and boycotts in the early 70s to fight for higher wages for migrant workers.
In 1980, the United States boycotted the Summer Olympics in the USSR in reaction to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. In retaliation, the USSR boycotted the Olympics 4 years later when they were held in Los Angeles
(I don't know about the Campbell's soup boycott....)
