While the trans atlantic involved movenment of people from deep in Africas Congo to destinations like North America (through alot of land then across an ocean) reason why trhe trans atlantic had a very high death toll conditions on ships were also unbarable to the Ship men as well as the slaves. Men who were a known age size to rebel were kept below deck chained throughout the whole journey in the same positions (minimum 3 weeks maximum 6 weeks) they ate slept urinated and excreted in those same positions packed tightly together disease and uncomfort was of course high. Also from their homelands to slave destination could take 3 months most the time spent to reaching the African coastline where there were only a few established ports from west to central Africa. In all areas the trans atlantic slave trade was worser than the arab and historically the worst and most effective slave trade in human history. |
