I cannot imagine that they will. Of course, the Constitution is where your allegiance should lie, but it is a wonderful, powerful, moving work. The song, I mean.

I never cared for America the Beautiful. It total lags and drags.

The second link seems to be some Australian who thinks that we care what he thinks about our national anthem. We are apparently not loyal and traditional, but rather sticks-in-the-mud. :P

They're gonna change our money! If we go in with Canada, will we have the Queen on our currency? Why not think about that?

Yes, Prince and Sting have already been commissioned to write the new one.

Doubt it. Where did you hear that?

i dont no any thing about that, but they r tryin 2 change the pledge. because it has the word God in it, sad really.

Not a realistic goal, especially from USA. Replacing the anthem would lower US moral, which is the last thing US government needs in their economical and moral crisis. It would cost unnecessary money, and there will be no reasonable purpos to replace it anyway.

A lot of people would like to have a national anthem that doesn't require any singing talent to sing, so that it would be a better choice for patriotic sing alongs. People talk about it, and suggest other songs (everything from "This Land is Your Land" to "Freebird") but nothing ever comes of it. Of course, a lot of people love The Star Spangled Banner, and a lot of others oppose changing traditions, so if anyone ever did get the ball rolling to change the anthem, you'd hear about it everywhere.

Here's my suggestion:

No, that will never happen. I haven't even heard the rumor. It is difficult to sing, but it's history will guarantee that changes will never be made. The very idea makes me mad!
