The Berlin Wall stood for approx 28 years.

Berlin Wall, former barrier surrounding West Berlin and symbol of the Cold War, built on August 13, 1961.

Opened by East Germans on November 9, 1989 and torn down by end of 1990, as Communism collapsed and Cold War ended.

my Dad said that it was in the early 60's when they bulit it and maybe in 1988 it fell
