Position:Home>History> If you could go back to about 200 or 300 years ago, what 3 people would you like

Question:I wouldn't mind talking to President George Washington, Fredrick Douglas, and Abraham Lincoln. I have always been interested in Washington. I admire his perseverance during hardships at war, and his love and patriotism for America. I admire Fredrick Douglas because he was very intelligent for a black man back then. I can imagine what he would be doing if he were of this century. I would like to talk to Lincoln about his childhood, and his struggles to rise out of proverty and become a famous president.
I know most people deem Washington to be a racist because he owned slaves. But he inherited those slaves. He didn't go out and purchase them. He wanted to set his slaves free, but he felt that they would be in more danger, and harm would come to them because during that time slavery was still legal. Since his slaves would not have had any place else to go he kept them on with him.
I truly believe that Washington was a Christian man.
