Women could not vote in the early 19th century. In America, Wyoming was the first place to give women the vote, in 1869 followed by Utah in 1870. Women did not get the vote all across the United States until 1920 (which is the early 20th century).

they started being allowed

It didn't change any at all.

US women were allowed to vote in 1820.

Several other countries allowed women to vote in the 19th century also.
