Not only the Vikings traveled far and wide. There were also some Arabs who went on world journeys.
Perhaps original sources for historians studying northern Europe can be found in ancient Arabic writings.

No ,I have not but it is not a strange occurrence. Swedish Vikings traveled as far Southeast as Byzantium and as far East as Samarkand on the Silk Road in order to trade. Chinese coins and a jade Buddha have turned up in Viking excavations as well as Persian and Arabic jewelry and art
