Question:What did it mean?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: What did it mean?

This was his "With malice toward none, with charity for all" speech in which he spoke of finishing the war and then binding the wounds of the country. Lincoln would have been a friend to the South if he had lived to direct reconstruction. Booth did a grave disservice to the south when he shot Lincoln.
