they would enjoy music and dancing, and they would go out drinking in the taverns. Gambling was popular with all classes, they would play cards and dice, and they would bet on horse races or anything else, even pudding-eating contests. They would enjoy wrestling and boxing matches, and the more bloodthirsty entertainment of cockfighting. Cricket and football were popular sports. there were fairs which were held at regular times of year, like the great Saint Bartholomew's at Smithfield, in London, with stalls, sideshows, wrestling and merry-go-rounds. The most gruesome form of entertainment was public executions, which were popular with people of all classes.

Singing and dancing

beer ^^
i suppose they would spend their free time in pubs having a laugh and a sing and stuff...

They would gather together and talk with one another (actually communicate with one another because official entertainment hadn't been invented yet and people still had something to say), they would play musical instruments (yes in those days people actually had to play music... there were no ipods), and on cold nights, they would trundle.

Now machines take care of all of this and we can just sit there and be entertained. That's progress for you.

Onanism, a perennial favourite pastime ;)
