A frontline trench is the trench that is located at the bottom of the centreground, it is used for cylindrical purposes.

a support trench is pretty much the backup of a frontline trench, this is also used for the centre but can also help in balancing

a communications trench is when a frontline trench and a support trench dont match, they cause an unstableness to make a big miscommunication

Trench warfare is a form of warfare where both combatants have fortified positions and fighting lines are static. Trench warfare arose when there was a revolution in firepower without similar advances in mobility. The result was a slow and grueling form of defense-oriented warfare in which both sides constructed elaborate and heavily armed trench and dugout systems opposing each other along a front, with soldiers in both trench lines largely defiladed from the other's small arms fire and enclosed by barbed wire. The area between opposing trench lines (known as "no man's land") was fully exposed to small-arms and artillery fire from both sides. Attacks, even successful ones, often sustained severe casualties as a matter of course. Periods of trench warfare occurred during the American Civil War, the Russo-Japanese War, and reached peak bloodshed on the Western Front of World War I. Trench warfare is often a sign of attrition warfare.

A frontline trench is where most of the fighting was done, also where the 'Over-the-Top' attacks were launched from.

A support trench is the trench or trenches behind the frontline trench, used to 'support' the frontline with additional fire power(eg heavy machine guns, small artillery pieces).

A communications trench is for moving troops, supplies, and message between the trenches without being exposed to the enemy.

The Front Line was where all the main part of hte action was in the war. Front line action was where the two opposing armies met, I'm guessing that a suppot rench was the one behind it and although I've never heard of hte communication trench, I'd imagine that it was where the communications equiptment was.
