Position:Home>History> Is it possible that Hitler...?

Question:...had a child at one point? I was reading some stories about Unity Mitford having had his child in 1940, and that it's possibly alive today, and I got rather interested. Does anyone think that it's possible that he had a child that nobody knows about (perhaps not even him)? Or does anyone think that we would have found out for sure if he had one by now, so it's most likely not possible? (because I know that people have probably looked into this a lot before)

What does everyone here think of the Unity Mitford story? I'd like to hear a few opinions. And I'd like SERIOUS answers only, please!

in all honesty i think that it is very possible that hitler had a child. i am positive that there were a lot of things that hitler did that most of the world doesn't know about.

it is also possible that if hilter did have a child that who ever the mother was did not tell people that it was his. after the war was over, and hitler lost, they may have feared for the child's safety and lied about the father of the baby.

also, it may have been so long ago, and such a secret that if hitler did have a child, that person may not even know that hitler is thier biological father.

you have to think a little bit about the times and cultures. any thing is possible.

i think its posible due to that he was a really powerful guy so u know women would go for him....(i think)....i think he did have kids but never reconized them....n if he didnt well i guess thats best.....

There are no provable facts surrounding the Mitford story.

The Unity Mitford story was very well debunked by an investigative reporter on a BBC documentary recently. After she shot herself in the head, she was very severely handicapped for the time she survived. She was accomodated for a while at a 'small rural hospital of a type which there used to be a great many years ago, and would sit in a wheelchair outside the doors if the weather was fine. The myth was floated partly because the hospital had frequently been used as a maternity home, but apart from accounts by people who saw Unity Mitford during her treatment, there is a surviving nurse who used to work at the hosopital. These all refuted the story as nonsense.

There is a story that Hitler fathered a child in the UK many years before the war - Does anybody know anything about that? Something to do with Liverpool.

Hitler was truly an odd duck. It is entirely possible that he had an 'abnormal' sex life. Abnormal in the sense that it is likely Hitler harbored fantasies for his niece Geli yet never actually did the 'dirty' deed and in fact fornicated only with his long time mistress Eva Braun and judging by Eva's complaints those occasions were rare. In other words Hitler didn't care for the act possibly considering it a foul deed. One must bear in mind that Hitler's emotional developement did not move much beyond adolescence. One of Hitlers' comrades was Julius Streicher a foul leering pervert type who not only collected 'dirty' stories but loved to tell them. When Julius started spewing around Hitler der Fuhrer would get uncomfortable and either leave the room or order Julius to leave the room. Josef Goebbels learned early in his career that spilling lecherous stories into Hitlers' ear made him uncomfortable and thus kept conversation to safe topics such as eliminating Jews.
Hitler could be called a prude. Confronted by the sight of Ernst Rohm in bed with a young man Hitler nearly threw up. Later on when word of a leading General marrying a former prostitute reached Hitler's attention his reaction was the same. In short Hitler was a prude to an amazing degree. And then there is the oft told and never quite verified tale that Hitler had one testical which made him 'shy.' (Only Hitler's tailor knew for sure)...
On a final note; British Intelligence is not a misnomer. If Unity Mitford had given birth to Hitler's child then it would have become known. British Intelligence would at the very least have informed Churchill and Churchill for all his greatness was an incurable gossip monger.

It's the kind of thing you can't completely disprove, but I doubt it.

For one thing, even if he was a bit sexually active, there's only a 3%-12% chance of the woman getting pregnant after any one instance of unprotected sex.

Second, any woman he would consider having sex with would have had to live up to the highest standards of Aryan womanhood; no easy feat.

I doubt that he did father a child, though, because he was more than a public figure; he was practically a god to the Germans. He had a lot of emphasis on marriage so women could have healthy Aryan sons; if he was caught canoodling, there would have been a lot of trouble. Triple that if there was a kid.

Either way, there's actually nothing really remarkable about the children of famous people. Einstein's kids aren't necessarily any better at math or any smarter than the rest of us. In fact, Einstein's son Eduoard just went bonkers. The other son was a hydraulic engineering professor; he was a good one, yes, but how many people know the name Hans Einstein? Also, Einstein was good at physics; any comments of his on other matters shouldn't be taken as gospel.

Likewise, any offspring Hitler produced wouldn't be anything particularly special; just because your father's a nutjob, doesn't mean you'll be one too.
