but just before and after, did they work every day? was a paper put out every single day, or was it like, six days a week?

Every source I've found seems to indicate a daily paper. But no specification of it being 5-6-or 7 day. My guess, though, would be 7 days as this was a time when the newspaper was the only means of learning what was going on in the city and country.
