The Middle East: When will it all end?

Question:Some say it started with Europe losing their colonies in the MidEast after WWI. Some say it started with the creation of Israel in 1948. Some say it started with Munich, and some with 911. How will it play out in the coming years, what kind of conflicts will there be, and what are the first steps to peace.

Well the Middle East as a whole is and will continue to be, a very unstable region. Leaving it alone will not bring about peace, though neither will invading the likes of Iraq as Bush has done.

In the coming years, I suspect there will be civil wars fought mostly on religious and ethnic differences, which will ultimately end in the collapse of the region as a whole.

In terms of peace, the borders of Middle Eastern countries really need to be re-drawn to appease the various groups fighting for control. There should be a Kurdish state, a Palestinian state, and a majority of Iraq should be split among the Sunni and Shi'ite lines.

Additionally, I think that Israel's presence in the Middle East would be more readily accepted by the major Islamic powers there if they do play a part in these border changes while also funding these new, developing nations.

Only then, can there be peace.

Isreal has been fighting against the Arib League since 1938 and still has no PEACE there... How does the United States to get PEACE there now??? As long as the Muslim want to kill those that aren't Muslims... How are you ever going to make PEACE with them???

It might have started when the muslims colonised the middle east (and north Africa) around 640. Of course their colonies are not called colonies- it would be sooooo un-political correct...

first step to peace? accept the status quo. then build on it.
the alternative is to let them fight a war until one side quits.

First. Not in our lifetime.
Second. The middle east has been at war with each other over two thousand years and it hasn't improved to this day.
What are the first steps to peace? Religious toleration and respect for others, but I can't see that happening.

It will never end as long as we are westerners. A sizeable part of the popultion of Muslims will never tolerate western values. Most do, or at least look the other way. But as the Liberals reach a hand out to the Islamic Extremists, They see the American Hand and want to cut it off at your NECK. It will never happen. War is natural. Like a primal capitalism. People dont change. Countries dont change. Were things always this fu(ked up? YES, for as far back as the Bible goes, people were at war, (and they had prostitutes). To me, war is the only answer to achieve Peace. We must war with countries that have Opressive Dictators in order to achieve Democracy for them. Democracy breeds money, intelligence, advancement and security for ALL people. Look at Russia, why are scores of people trying to get here? Its because Socialism is wonderful, right? Putin killing hundreds, nobel cause? Look at what China does to the Tibetans! Why are cubans and Hatians DYING to get HERE. Its because Communism is too good for them, they want a shltty life here in the states. The conflicts will only get worse as evil dictators continue to gain more power, money and weapons while keeping their people poor, uneducated, diseased and full of hate. (Exactly where the Democrats would like to take us with all their socialist ideals). Its one way to fix immigration. Socialize the country so nobody wants to be here. But as for when conflict started, it started at conception. Guys fight over girls, girls fight over money, queers fight over hair, people are always fighting it will never change, AND ONLY THE STRONG SHALL SURVIVE.
