Position:Home>History> Who answers questions in the history section?Question:Are you all really historians? Students? Or just armchair enthusiaists? Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Are you all really historians? Students? Or just armchair enthusiaists? I am enough of an historian to have a problem with your categories :) That being said, I'm a student and an enthusiast. I am in the process of going back to school [after many years] to finish my degree. And I have spent the interim reading in depth in the areas that interest me. I believe a knowledge of history is extremely important-- especially in our society today. We have become historical amnesiacs, which affects our ability to understand world events happening around us. I am a Reference Librarian in a small public library in Ohio. I also have a Master's Degree in History (U.S.). I have a teaching degree, too (Secondary Ed). I live in the past. I think all of the types you mentioned answer here. Take answer with some caution. There have been flat out wrong answers given and selected as the best answer. Such as a question "Who were the Central Powers (WW1)" and the selected answer was Nazi Germany. I'm not any of the above, I'm just well educated and I try to do right by people and only answer the questions I am positive I know, if I don't know then I try to send them to where I think they can find the answers. HTH! A little bit of all of those. I have always had a fascination with history of many subjects, so I tend to try and lend a hand when I can on here. Hi J.P.
