not really, nationalism is so high during times of war that anyone opposing is seen as supporting the other side, or whatever the opposing has to say, they are not listened to or their words are twisted to fit the war belief. take what happened in the beginning of the iraq war for example, people were getting all pissy at france for not helping out and started calling anything 'french...", "freedom..." (freedom fries, freedom toast, freedom horn) as if to liberate the U.S. from those who didn't see their ways.

Yes, especially in time of war. People have the right in the US to speak out against what they perceive to be unjust or wrong. This is a basic principle of the Bill of Rights.
