She was 15. If you broaden the spectrum from 15-year-olds in history to young people in history, you have a LOT of options:

Joan of Arc

Amber Hagerman -- was kidnapped and murdered. Her death resulted in the establishment of the Amber Alert, where media and government work together to try to find a child when they have been kidnapped.

Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands -- she was just ten years old when she became queen regent

Another good source to look up is the Resistance movements of WWII. The majority of the fighters/operatives were in their teens, because they really had no ties or responsibilities to children or even spouses.

Along the same time (sorry, WWII is my particular topic of interest), you could even include the "little girl in red" from Schindler's List. The story goes that the red coat caught the attention of him and his mistress as they were riding , and they watched that toddler be prodded along to stay with the other children while absolute 100% violence and murder were going on around her. They both wondered why the Nazis would make a child so young live with those memories, and realized at that point that the reason was that they were not going to let any of them live, period. His purpose for being in Poland shifted from making money to trying to help save lives if he could. The change of heart was the first in a long series of events that ended with Schindler spending all his money buying the Jewish factory workers and operating a "concentration camp" where the Nazis were not permitted to do anything that would slow down production, and they were safe from beatings, starvation, disease (well, it wasn't as rampant as it was in the other camps), being killed.

clearly not old enough.

im pretty sure it was 14....

Im not sure but i believ she was 15. go to wikipedia to check just in case im wrong.

Anne was almost 16 and died of typhus at the Bergen Belsen concentration camp. D.O.B: June 12, 1929 and died in 1945.
Joan of Arc was 19. I think you are gonna have a hard time finding a famous person who died at the exact same age.
Not thinking this is a good comparison but...
Michael Cuccione: Star on the MTV TV series "2Gether", played Jason "Q.T." McKnight, treatment for a previous bout of cancer had permanently damaged his lungs
Date of Birth:01/05/1985
Date of Death:01/13/2001
Age at Death:16
Cause of Death:
Respiratory failure

I believe that she was 17 or almost 17 cuz her birthday was right around the corner.

Anne was almost 16 when she died in a death camp in Germany. I know. I just finished reading her diary. She died just a month or two before the camp was liberated. Sad, huh?
