Question:nashville, memphis, new orleans were the major losses for the confederacy in 1862. these losses paved the way for further incursions in the deep south and soon towns and cities like vicksburg, murfreesboro, and chattanooga fell to the union army.

I know of Nashville and Shiloh,TN I would have to look up more.

You're right dsm. The guy before that doesn't really know anything...when looking up the answers instead of knowing them there are cities listed that didn't happen in 1862 like the question asked.

Don't forget Sherman's "March to the Sea."

Shiloh was not a city, it was a small country church near Pittsburg Landing on the Tennessee River.
