Question:Phoenicians are ancient Arabs according to many authentic references, they immigrated from "Al-Bahrain" region located in the north eastern part of the Arabian peninsula, this region extends from Kuwait all the way down to include parts of the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. historically speaking phenociens were enemies of Israelite, in their holy book there is a reference " now go and strike Amalek - Amalek is a Phoenician king ,in Arabic Amalek meaning the giant- and utterly destroy all that he has, and do not spare him, but put to death both man and woman, infant and suckling ,ox and sheep, camel and ***". 1Samuel 15:3 . they are Canaanites it is the Greek who gave the name (Xinnoeph), in Arabic relevant literature Phoenicians are refered to as Canaanites. Today all Phoenician alphabets are mutually comprehensible to Arabic language speakers and somehow to Hebrew speakers for both Arabic and Hebrew are Semitic languages , This is recorded in Arabic references dated back as far as the 9th century by AlTabari and later by ibn Khaldoon the founder of sociology. according to Arab historians Phoenicians are a major group of Canaanites, moreover there is a substantiating evidence refuting any claims that Phoenicians are not ancient Arabs : Arabic language not only adopted the writing system but also followed the foot steps of phonecian alphabet system that is writing from right to left moreover the resemblance is striking between all Phoenician alphabets and Arabic alphabets, consider, eye for the O (Ayin) Ras for the S(head)......etc

The Phoenicians were around, and recorded in History, at the same time as ancient Arabs, but in different locations.

The Phoenician cities have been inhabited for the length of recorded history. The Arabs, self-affirmed descendants of Ishmael, came from Mesopotamia and have lived in the area of the Arabian Peninsula ever since. There isn't that much connection between the two.

No, the Phoenicians lived on the coast, where Lebenon is now. The Arabs were still further South.

No. Despite other claims that the Phoenicians were the ancient Arabs, and although they both belong to the same Semitic race, historically, culturally and linguistically they are different. Phoenicia's ancient civilization centered in the north of ancient Canaan, with its heartland along the coast of modern day Lebanon, Syria and the geographical area of Palestine. Their civilization was organized in city-states similar to ancient Greece. But unlike the Greeks who became unified, each Phoenician city-state was an independent unit politically. The Phoenicians spoke of the Phoenician language, which had split from the Canaanite languages in the Semitic language family (which includes Arabic and Hebrew). Through their maritime trade, the Phoenicians spread the use of the alphabet to North Africa and Europe where it was adopted by the Greeks & Etruscans. Throughout their history, only one colony (an independent city-state) rose to become a powerful empire, Carthage, which was later defeated by the Romans in the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Punic Wars (the term "Punic" refers to Phoenicia). Most of what remains now of ancient Carthage is the present country of Tunisia and parts of Libya & Malta.

NO many of the old peoples who settled/conquered the middle east were not semitic .The philistines of david and goliath fame were actually descended from greeks as an example and were much more cultured and civilized than the bible would have us believe.

There are 3 kinds of Arabs:

Ancient Arabs: They came originally from south Arabia (Yemen), & this was long time before Abraham.

Later Arabs: They are the decedents of Ishmael son of Abraham. They moved from Mesopotamia to the south (Arabia). They include most famous surviving Arabic tribes like Quraish, the tribe of Muhammad the Muslim prophet.

Modern Arabs: They are citizens of the modern Arabic countries who are a multiethnic group of peoples. This includes the descendants of the Phoenicians (mainly Lebanese)
