Need elaboration. You mean guns used by infantry, or turrets? Arillery pieces? Anti-air weapons?

Best place to start is wikipedia, but be sure to cross-check it with other sites. Use google to hunt them down... and it's not difficult. There are plenty of war-hardcore fans with their fancy websites.

At the start of the war the US troops were still using the '03, a Springfield rifle first introduced in 1903. It had a wicked kick. By 1943 just about everyone was using the M1, a somewhat lighter weight rifle with less kick, but when you used your thumb to insert a new clip, you were risking having it mashed.
