It was Country Joe McDonald and the song is "I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die-Rag".

get the Woodstock album if it is 1-2-3- what are we fighting for, don't ask me I don't give a damn, next stop is Vietnam, and it 5-6-7 open up the pearly gates.....

But then there's Bob Dylan's "Masters of War" or Jimmy Cliff's "Vietnam" and others. Can you be more specific? What words do you remember from the song for example?
