You put stop in between all sentences. that's about all I know, really.

A telegram is just like sending a e-mail, but you pay for the letter, so you want to be short and to the point. If you are covering WWI telegrams, I hope you are talking about the Telegram Germany sent to Mexico but was intercepted by Great Britain, asking Mexico to attack southern US and Germany would provide financial help, Mexico would get Texas, New Mexico and Arizona.

A model might be the Zimmermann telegram, which was a cause for the US' entering the war. Google it and see if you can come up with a translation.(The original would have been in German.)
