He called him Meathead.

It was "Meathead". The origin of that name was exposed in one episode - to Archie's humiliation. It seems when Archie first got his job at the loading dock as a young man, he dropped a crate of machine parts that spilled everywhere. The older guys labeled him as Meathead. A name he carried himself, at work for years. He was passing the insult originally targeted at him on to Gloria's husband.

I don't know why I remember that.

To Archie the name meant "dead from the neck up". Archie had also been called "Meathead".
