Here are some ways to learn more about Indian Culture:

First, and I am not being funny, call yourself an Indian-American if you must, otherwise stupid people will assume you mean "Native American" by mistake. Good luck with your search. Wish I could have been of more help.

ask your parents... Indian are difficult people you need to get some indian friends.

Do you mean your ancestors were from India or that they are Native American Indians?

hinduism...there's SOOOO much to say. some basicthings:

1. Hindus do not worship cows.they believe that cows should be respected because they give us things like milk which make other things from.
2. the caste system does NOT exist anymore in india. it was meant to organize society by splitting people into categories not to make others seem superior to some other group.
3. hindus don't believei nthousands on god. there is only one god. the other Gods are just other forms of that one supreme being. That one supreme beign is belived to be different by different people. Some believe its Shiva, some think its Vihnu, etc.
4.Shiva is the "destroyer" or evil not jsut a destroyer of everything (the god of taking away the bad things from the world.)
5. hinduism doesn't force vegeterianism on anyone. it's just a suggested choice because hindus belive that everythign (including animals) should be respected.

by the way. there is living proof that Ganesh, an indian God, existed. if you go onyoutube or something and search in "milk mirical" you might find some good videos. basically its when people all over the world put a sppoful of milk to Go'd statue, the DISSAPPERED! (as inthe God drank it). now this wasn't hapenign to jsut one temple or anything. it was happening in people's hosue and everywhere. BE SURE TO WATCH THE video. its AMAZING.

i listen some sights if you want to look at them. the second one is an indian voluntary program that i'm part of. it educated you about the indian culuter. it's once a week,: you play games, learn, teach, yoga, etc. it's SOO much fun! see if you can locate one of these programs (called a shakha) near where you live.

Indian culture.....there are so many of them ......come to India and feel it ...is the best
