Position:Home>History> Have Muslims live in France since the 9th century C.E.?

Question:The Muslim attempt to enter and conquer what we know as France was stopped at the battle of Tours,732 AD The Muslims withdrew beyond the Pyrenees Mountains, where they continued to rule Spain, until their last expulsion in 1492.

The Franks were major supporters and participants in the several Crusades, and although they learned much about Arab culture, and valued many of its aspects (food, spices, etc.), it is unlikely that practicing Muslims would be found in France.

There could have been occasional traveler, sailors, and merchants temporarily in France, but not in any numbers, and not permanently.

yes

Maybe, but left wing historians also point out evidence of black people living in England 2000 years ago.
However, they then try to use this as proof of a long history of a multicultural society when in fact its proof that the romans had a few slaves here. possibly less than 100 black ones.

Any Muslims living in France that early would have to be very quiet about their religion.
