Question: Where do surnames ending in "off" come from!?

It's Russian, in my case at least!. My family are Russian Jews!. Names ending in ov, ove, and off are the same name!. The spellings of the names changed over the years, probably because of immigration!. I have seen many people with my last name spell it Sokolove!. I can't remember which is the original Russian spelling though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. It's German!. Actually, it's just like Eastern Europe!. So Russian and German!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
