Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Jefferson Davis married twice: he had no children by Sarah Knox Taylor (m!. 1835), the daughter of Zachery Taylor; the couple contracted malaria, and she died three months after their wedding!.

Jefferson married Varina Banks Howell (1726-1906) in 1845!. She was the daughter of New Jersey Governor, Richard Howell!.

Varina and Jeff Davis had six children, but only one daughter married and had issue:
Samuel Emory (1852-1854)
Margaret Howell (1855-1909); married Joel Addison Hayes (for more on this see the Rice Institute web site)
Jefferson, Jr!. (1857-1878)
Joseph Evan (1859-2864)
William "Billy" Howell (1861-1872)
Varina Anne (1864-1898)

Margaret and Joel moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1885, and their descendants still live in the Colorado Springs area today!. One descendant, great-great grandson, Bertram Hayes-Davis, a 59 year-old banker from Colorado Springs, helped commemorate Jefferson Davis' 200th birthday, 24 February 2008!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
