I have Fleming in my family history!. My John Fleming was born around 1633 in Scotland and married to Mary or Mercy that was born in the Charles Parish in York County Virginia about 1637!.
They married in 1658 in England!.
They were tobacco planters and was well off
The Fleming family married into the Bates family many times!. One of those Bates descendants was Edward Bates which was U S Attorney for Abraham Lincoln!. Edward was also the Governor of Missouri!.

This is an ancient name in Ireland, known to date back to the 12th Century and shortly after the invasion of Henry 11th in 1171!.
