The nearest match I can find is that it could be a corruption of the name Izzard, which is deemed to be English but is more arguably of Norman-French origins!. There are many spelling forms and corruptions of this name, including Izzard, Izatt, Izatson, Isatt, Isitt, Izod and Ize!. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" and when people emigrated to new lands, their names became corrupted by misspelling and misprounciation and often got changed to astonishing variants of the original spelling!.

Izzard derives either from 1) the male personal name Ishard or the female Isolde, both Germanic: "is", meaning ice, and "hild", a battle, or "hard", meaning hard or strong or 2) from the Old French Provencal word "izar", meaning a mountain goat!.
