Question: Help find husbands birthmother!.!?

My husband and his sister were adopted when she was 5 and he was 3!. They were taken from there birth mother by social services!. Is there a way for him to find out who she was without asking his adoptive parents!? They know who she is but my husband doesn't want them to find out he is looking!. Is there a way to find the old birth certificate!. He knows he was born in Newport News, VA!. That's all he knows!. How do we begin!?!? Please helpWww@QuestionHome@Com

Go to Social Services and ask to speak to an Adoptions Officer who will be able to point you in the right direction!.
In the UK you can apply for your original Birth Certificate if you have been adopted subsequently, but you do need to see a Social Worker first here!.
We also have a policy that children's records are never destroyed; the US is probably the same so details of the adoptions should be on file in archives somewhere!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
