Question: Is there anyone who can tell me about the name Chipchase!?
Does anyone know where the last name of Chipchase comes from!?!. I don't know if it's Scottish, Irish, or English!. But I know theres a castle in Newcastle!. Any more information would be grateful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

has a bunch of them from England!. The birthplace is in <angle brackets> and you can click on people to see where their parents were born!. The women took their husband's name, so look at the details of men born before 1840; THEIR fathers were born 20 - 60 years before then!. You should be able to see birthplaces of men born in the late 1700's!. You'll see lots of migration!.

Here is a Canadian one!. They asked Ethnicity, not parents' BP

The name is definitely English!.

Couldn't find a meaning but Chase means "woods particularly suitable for hunting" from the Old French word chaceur "hunter"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
