Question: How can I find more information about an ancestor when all I have is a first and last name and SS number!?
I know my g-grandfather's first and last name and his social security number, but nothing else!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Google the name and the city state or do a people search on one of the people search enginesWww@QuestionHome@Com

Ask your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc!., most likely someone in your family will know bits & pieces of your family history!. If he's on your dad's side, ask all your dad's relatives, someone may have it all the family info written down!

& put his info in, that will tell you where his last residence was, then perhaps you can check for an obituary for him, which might give you his birth info!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do a search on the web, everyone has a cousin that they haven't seen in years who has done some of the research already!. in a search engine type in
(your last name)+genealogy
you can also try
(your last name)+family

You can get your g grdads SS5!.!.his SS application!.!.which will give you his birthdate,birthplace,his parents names!.!.etc!. Just contact the SS office in the state the card was issued!.Hope this helps!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
