Luke 3: 23-38 lists the male ancestors of Jesus in Mary's family tree starting with Adam!. Some biblical scholars believe this is because Matthew wanted to emphasize Jesus' royal lineage while Luke wanted to emphasize Christ's priestly ancestry!. The lists are identical between Abraham and David, but they differ from this point!. Interestingly enough, Matthew's family tree also includes five female ancestors of Jesus: Tamar, Ruth, Rahab, Bathsheba, and Mary!. Upon googling "genealogy of Jesus", I quickly discovered at least five pages of entries discussing this topic (and stopped browsing), but I am only listing the first (Wikipedia) entry!.
