There seems to be quite a bit of confusion over half-sibling and step-sibling here!.

Half-brother and half-sister share one parent!. Albert marries Anne, they produce Bruce!. but Anne dies a year later!. Albert marries Alice, they produce Barbara!. Bruce and Barbara are half-brother and half-sister!.

Alice dies!. (This is before doctors knew enough to wash their hands between patients!.) Albert marries Charlotte, a widow with children Carl and Constance!. (Charlotte's late husband Charles came down with a fever and did not get up!.)

Carl and Constance live in the same house as Bruce and Barbara, share the same interests, do their fair share of chores and read by the same candle light, but they have no blood relation at all!. They are step-brothers and step-sisters to each other!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
