There's a dusty, old, genealogy at my parents' house somewhere and an old piece of family lore claiming that a few of my ancestors had a "most scandalous reputation for inter-mingling with the free negroes and savages in business and other affairs!."

Is it proof positive that I'm a brotha!? Well, maybe not, but I love taking credit for it anyway!.

On a related note, I also discovered that my great-great-great-great-great-great-gran!.!.!. (6 greats) was the great-great-great-great grandfather (4 greats) of a girl I dated in college!. I think that makes us 13th cousins, but not quite sure!. Oh well, nobody's perfect!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, well, close anyway!. I found some ancestors that were listed in ONE census as "not white", but the census previous and the one after listed them as white!. I knew that I had some Amerindian in my family, but this was on a different line altogether!.

For the Young lady who is Lebanese and "looks Irish"!.!.!. The Norse had a large colony in Lebanon and they often "looked Irish"!. also the French were there for a long time, and many from the Normandy and Brittany parts of France are British or/and Norse!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
