Teutonic means "Germanic"!. It does NOT mean German!. German implies an origin in the country of Germany!. German people are predominanlty Germanic, but all Teutonic/Germanic people are not German!. Germany did not exist as an Empire (not a nation) until 1871 under Kaiser Wilhem and Chancellor Bismarck's influence!. It was not known as a nation or country until the end of World War One!. These are key elements to understanding European and Teutonic history!.

When it comes to LANGUAGES, the German language and English language are both Teutonic tongues!. Importantly, German was in existence well before English, as English is a language that evolved out of Germanic languages!. So Teutonic is the tree, and German is one large branch, and English "forks off of" that German branch!.

Teutonic people originated in the Scandinavian north, and migrated down to populate all of the nations of Europe - including the Russ of the Volga region, Goths in Spain, Lombard(i)s that settled northern Italy and Alpine/Tyrolian regions, Visigoths to the East, Franks, Gauls, Angles, Saxons, Jutes in the north, Thuringians to the northeast, Normans in western France (all these nation references are present day)!. There are far more Teutonic tribes than I have named!. This is why German - in multiple dialects - is spoken throughout Europe as well!. The Teutonics were a prolific people, that, under the mantle of Viking warriors, were far reaching in their exploration, influence and impact on the world!.
