Question: Cant find ancestor anywhere!?
i am looking for my grandfather John William speakman born 1882 Bolton Lancashire!.we know he married my grandmother emma jane taylor bolton!.!.he joind the army 1914 novemnber but health grounds they discharged him in the dec 1914!.!.after that he disappeared my grandmother always told my mum her father was a coward!?

I found John's Atestation paper, it says the date he joined the army was 13th November 1914, but there is a stamp on the paper dated 8th May 1922 and it looks like the address was given as "Fulwood Barracks"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is a John Speakman who died in 1914!. Could this be him!?

This was a popular name!. There was also a John Speakman who married a Taylor in 1915!. Was the wife Emma Taylor of Bolton!? Or Emma Bolton!?

if you know his name then you could try somerset house house in london you will need as much info as possible including D!.O!.B!. I am not sure though if this place still exists or if it has been closed but if you go to your local registrars office they should be able to point you in the right directionWww@QuestionHome@Com

(your last name)+genealogy
you can also try

through the local council, either in Bolton Lancs, or where he died if you know it!. They should have copies of death certificates!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
