Question: How can I put some meat on the bones!?
I'm researching my family tree and I'm looking to give some life to those names on the page!. I have found my Great Great Grandfather William Colbridge's (born Thorne, Yorkshire in 1846/7 can't remember exactly) death notice in the London Gazette (Jan, 23 1894) and it says that his will was provided to the district registry in york!. I was wondering if I would be able to get hold of a copy of his will and where to look!. I really want to find a copy because 6 of his 8 children go missing between the 1891 and 1901 census, he was a widower so the will might give a clue to where they went!.
Thanks for any help you may be able to give me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
have you tried looking for their deaths, maybe there was a congenital problem in the family and the children all ended up dying!. have you checked the newspapers for that area at that time, try the collindale newspaper library, london, make a special trip if you have to, its very interesting reading the papers for the area that your ancestors grew up in!. they may have details of some disaster or tragedy!. did his wife leave him and the children went with her!? were they adopted!?
get the certs for his childrens births and his death too, he died young!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
