Question: Your Family History!? (Immigration research project)!?
I am doing a project for my Geography class!. I need to find 10 people to use as sources!. I do not need any names, just the information!. I live in Hawaii, so it is hard for me to determine exactly what it is like on the mainland!. I am looking for 10 answers, and I guess I'll give 10 points to who's is the most interesting!?

So, I am looking for sources (or their parents or family members) that have immigrated to the United States!.

The questions I need answered are:
1) Place the immigrated from
2)Age at the time of immigration
3)Education level at the time of immigration
4)Reason for immigration
5)An anything else interesting!?

Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Granparents, immigrated from Poland!.
Mid 50s for him
No info on any education
presumably that of most immigrants!.!. better opportunity in life

My grandfather was born in the 1830's, and came to the US with his first wife!. His children were adults when he married my grandmother (after wife 1 died), and my mother was the youngest of his 2nd family!. She was less than 2 yrs old when he died at age 70 (fell from a roof), in 1910!.
My mother was also older when I was born!. When I was born!.!.he would have been well over 100 yr olds!. This helps you understand that a generation can be very wide!.!. most people know their grandparents, even gr grandparents, sometimes!. Not me!.
Have fun! (ps!.!. are you ready to find out about your own family!? we can help) Www@QuestionHome@Com

My Grandmother (mother's mother)

1) Quebec Canada
2) 3
3) no formal education
4) Family moved to San Francisco, I don't know exactly why, except that San Francisco is too awesome to not move to!.
5) She only spoke French when she came over, as well as her brothers, and parents!. I knew her mother (my great grandmother), in my childhood, I remembered she had a very heavy accent!. My grandmother met my Grandfather when she was 5, he lived down the street and would play with her brothers, though they wouldn't meet again for a couple decades after that!.

I need to go to sleep now!. omgWww@QuestionHome@Com

My Grandmother

1!. Norway
2!. 11
3!. Completed the equivalent of elementary school in Norway
4!. Nazi occupation of Norway!.
5!. My great uncle held a high military rank in the Norwegian Navy and was wanted by the Nazis, so as a precaution, they left Norway!. They gathered their belongings and hid them in an underground shelter before coming over and basically left nothing in their home and came to NY with just a suitcase full of clothes!. When she arrived here, she only spoke Norwegian!. She went back with her family after World War 2, discovered the house had been occupied by German Nazi soldiers, gave the house to a family member, and then shipped their belongings to the US to stay here for good!.
