Question: Who were the parents of John Wiskirchen!?
My ancestor John Joseph Wiskirchen was born in Germany in 1849!. As a child, he came to Sheboygan County, Wisconsin where he grew up and married Rosalia Gustin!. He had at least another brother named Jacob Wiskirchen!.
There are many variations of the name's spelling and I have come across a few different sets of parents that are named as his!. I also saw a census record in which he and his brother are living with an older couple that do not have the same last name!.

Don't forget that you will need to look for him under Johann!. also his brother and father as many Germans named their sons Johan Joseph, Johan Peter, Johan William, etc!. with the middle name becoming the name they went by!.
Per the Ancestry tree, which is pretty detailed and has sources, he was born in Freisheim, Rheinland, Prussia, 1/4/1849!. Germany His parents were Mathias Wiskirchen and Anna Maria Schmitz!.

I would contact the county courthouse where these people lived and ask about their naturalization records, especially for William, Mathias then John and Joseph!. This has clues as to where they are from and possibly the parents!. also, John states he immegrated in 1849 so I would look for a ship manifest for that timeframe as he had to be with his parents since he was born the same year!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
