Overgrazing and crowding of the range!. The homesteaders and the Public Land Surveys established areas that shrunk the grazing area and crowded the range to be true but the expansion of the RR caused the movement to feed lots!. Helped the starving cattle fatten up!. Cheaper prices meant "eat more beef"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
