No, I'm a "Baby Boomer", born in 1946!.
I grew up poor, without central heat and air conditioning, color TV, Crock Pots or microwaves, to name a few!.
We lived in an old house, which only had 5 rooms, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a living room and a kitchen!.
We only had 1 vehicle, a truck which my dad used for work!. So we had to walk, or ride our bicycles or bum rides with our friends!.
Going to the movies was special!. For 10 cents we could go to the Saturday matinee!. When my dad was home on the week-ends, we would go to the drive-in movies for a dollar a car load!.
We got our first TV when I was in the 5th grade!. TV stations went off the air at 11:00pm, commercials were live and married people did not sleep in the same bed on any TV show!.
We only had 3 stations (ABC, CBS and NBC)!. If the rabbit ears weren't very good an outside antennae was a must and had to be turned in order to pick-up the best signal!.
We did have 4 dishwashers, though; me and my 3 sisters!
And, we had a solar clothes dryer, which consisted of a thin rope tied between 2 posts in the back yard and the heat came from the sun!
We didn't have a refridgerator, just an ice box, until I was 7 years old!. The ice man brought our ice twice a week and we had to chip off what we needed for our iced tea on Sunday!. Iced drinks were not allowed during the week!.
If we behaved when we went to town on Saturday morning, Dad would give each of us a nickle for the Coca Cola machine at the feed store!. We drank it there, because we couldn't afford the 2 cents extra for the bottle!.
I walked 1 mile to the nearest library!. I receive my first book for Christmas, when I was in the 4th grade, and I still have it!.
By the time we were 12 years old,we knew how to do the laundry and iron our clothes!.
Using the phone on a daily basis to call our friends and have lengthy conversations was not an option!.

Now, I live in a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house with central heat & air!. We have 4 TV's, 4 DVD players, 5 computers (2 desktops & 3 laptops), a microwave oven, an electric dishwasher and the refridgerator has an ice-maker!. We have cable TV, the Internet, 4 land line phones, 3 cellphones, an ATV, a bass boat, a jon boat and a kayak (we live on lakefront property), a riding lawnmower and 3 Crock Pots!.
Our basement is huge, with a pool table, my private library, a section for playing cards!. And my car is parked in a 2 car garage!.

As for the impact of today's technology on my life, it has made me lazy and spoiled, and for that, I will not apologize!
I deserve to be lazy and spoiled!.
But, I also, feel that having grown up, without the technology of today, I am better prepared to live without them!.
Can you say the same!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It, unfortunately, makes us all dependent on it and a lot of people think that the most important things in life are their cell phones and their myspaces!.

I find it annoying, but I was consumed too, as you can see with the yahoo answers and my ipod!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
