Question: Where does the surname Aid come from!?
My grandparents' name is Aid!. I know that my grandpa Frank's mother was named Katie Aid!. I have been told she was Irish but when I look it up, I never find the name Aid anywhere in Ireland!. Any help would be great!. Thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Could have started out a gaeilge name!.The British frowned on using Irish and it might have been changed to Aid then!.

I think to find out where your particular Aid family came from, you will have to do the research!.

It might be because either her surname was spelled differently than the Aid spelling!.
