Hi Matthew,

This is time consuming but you be glad you did the research & then reap the benefits it brings to your family and (beyond your kids)!.
good place to start is the Municipal Court House-records: birth, marriage & death!. You will need your grandfather's full name (1st name, middle name & last name, his birth-date if you have this) any records that they have will get you started!. This will start you on a journey of finding all your ancestor's, nationalities, what they did for a living, who they married, children they had, deaths, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins etc!. Good luck & have a good night!. :0)
Additional Details: I thought was English & German (when I was a kid) until I started my search & I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the boot legging great great great grandfather in my family tree truth be told I am Irish & English ancestors!. (did this in the early 30's)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do a search on the web, everyone has a cousin that they haven't seen in years who has done some of the research already!. in a search engine type in
(your last name)+genealogy
you can also try
(your last name)+family
