Since you only asked about the second wife, I'll not post all the information on him or his parents!. Since someone thinks there was a 2nd wife, it could be true as he had many kids and needed a wife around!.

There is one Glossen in Lake Co, Il that's a possible!.
Pearl M Glossen
Home in 1930: Waukegan, Lake, Illinois
Age: 47
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1883
Birthplace: Illinois
Relation to Head of House: Mother-in-law
Race: White
John A Cole 28 IL IL IL
Kathleen M Cole 25 married 1 year IL IL IL
Pearl M Glossen 47 mother in law IL IL IL

Here's Kathleen's Social Security info!. If you go to www!.ssa!.gov and select FOI it will tell you how to order her social security application, which will have her parents names!.

Kathleen M!. Cole
SSN: 361-10-0460
Last Residence: 33511 Brandon, Hillsborough, Florida, United States of America
Born: 1 Nov 1904
Died: 8 Oct 1999
State (Year) SSN issued: Illinois (Before 1951 )

Now I looked for Pearl and Kathleen in 1920!.
Pearl and Kathleen Ely, with husband Frank in Cook Co, IL!.are the closest in ages as those above!.

I think the only thing to do is contact the Lake County courthouse to find Pearl's death certificate or Kathleen's birth certificate to find Pearl's maiden name!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd suggest you pull his death certificate from Lake County and see who was listed as his spouse!. There's no census record on him under that spelling in either state, so I can't help you narrow it that way!. I'd also suggest you check with the Waukegan Library for a copy of his death certificate!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here is what I found:

Peter Glossen
b!. 1/24/1874 in Henry County, ILL
d!. 3/20/1929 in Waukegan Lake County, ILL

Wife: Anne Beller
b!. 10/1877 in Ft!. Madison, Lee County, Iowa
d!. 5/25/1913 in Columbus, Platte County, Nebraska

Their children were:
Joseph born 3/16/1900
Nellie born 12/2/1902
Miriam born 1903
William born 4/27/1907
Clarence born 5/17/1908
Regina, born 5/1/1911
Edward P!. , born 4/17/1913

Peter Glossen's parents were John Glossen, b!. 12/3/1836 in Germany and died 6/24/1916 in Illinois and Maria C!. Schmitt, born about 1841 in Germany and died 4/25/1896 in Illinois!.

In the Census of 1920 for Waukegan Lake Cty, Illinois, I found Peter Glossen!. He 45 years old!. He's a widower and has not remarried!. His children are listed as Joseph age 19, Nellie G!. age 18, Marion G!. age 17, Clarence D!. age 11 and Edward age 6!.

Since Peter died in 1929 I think it's likely that he never remarried since he had not remarried by 1920!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

(Notice birth year difference):
Peter GLOSSON
Sex: M
Birth: 1877 in Lindsay, New Brunswick, Canada!. The county name was Platte, so my guess it said NB for Nebraska, & the person thought it meant New Brunswick!. Nebraska is abbreviated NE, however)
Death: 1929
Marriage 1 Anne BELLER b: 1877

I saw an entry on ancestry!.com in a census that had EMMA BELLER listed as an alternate name for ANNA!.

Civil War Pension Index: General Index to Pension Files, 1861-1934
Name: Peter Glossen
State Filed: New Jersey
Widow: Mary A!. Glossen
(This was filed in August 1890, according to the original view)

A family tree listed on ancestry!.com's One World Tree page shows this:
ANNA (ANNIE) BELLER was born 1877 in IOWA!. and sister
BERTHA BELLER was born 1877 in IOWA, and died 1955!.
It says they were twins!., as were JOHANNA BELLER was born 1884 in IOWA, and EMMA BELLER was born 1884 (just saw where it couldn't have been Emma because she died in infancy), and Johanna's husband was unknown!.

Could he have married one of her sisters after she died (the 1920 census above showed him as a widower)!. Other than these names, I can't find anyone else listed!.
