Question: Where can I find an Obituary for Alda M!. Newton, East Liverpool Ohio!?
Where can I find my obit for my great grandmother !? Here is what I have but I woud like a copy of the Obit for the family tree
Alda M Newton
Born : 1874 or 1897
(not sure of date) she was born in Fredericks town Ohio
Died : April 10, 1972 East Liverpool ohio
Parents
Margarett H!. Barrett and Thomas Toland
Alda's first huband was Roy Mackall, however she was married to Earl Newton when she passed away!. She is buried in East Palestine Cemetary in East Palestine ohio, with her second huband!.

East liverpool's public library may have the newspaper containing that obituary!. Otherwise, I would contact the newpapers in that town!. If you don't live in East Liverpool, you can just call them and find out how to go about recieving an old paper containing an obituary!. Here is a site with links to both newspapers in the town:

It also contains addresses and phone numbers!. Which may be more useful!. I tried typing in your great grandmothers date of death on the websites were it says 'search obituaries by date published'!. But it wouldn't work!. Calling will be less of a hassle anyways I think!.

Alda M!. Newton according ancestry!.com died in Columbiana, Ohio!. Sorry, that's all I could manage, my subscription with them has lapsed!. The problem here is that on the page I found her, it says she passed in Columbiana Ohio!. Problem is, where she passed says it is called Columbiana County!. This could be why you can't find her in East Liverpool!.
As far as I can tell there is no East Palestine Cemetery!. There are three noted on East Palestine site!. Glenview Cemetery, St!. Mary's Catholic Cemetery and the Pioneer Boatman Memorial Cemetery!.

I would search the internet for a local newspaper in that town for the obit, call and ask for a copy of the newspaper from that week if it was in it! I used to work at a newspaper, people do it all the time! Www@QuestionHome@Com

First, understand that newspapers did not always publish death notices and obituaries unless it was someone such as the president, mayor or someone important!. However, the date you are searching is modern and it was probably published!.
You can go to the newspaper in the town where the person died and check the archives!. In this case, you would go to the REVIEW at http://www!.reviewonline!.com Remember, they may or may not have been the paper during the 1970's!. Call or write them or visit in person and they can tell you if they handle that year's archives!. If so, they can make a copy for a fee!. If not, they can tell you what newspaper was active at the time and place and you may still be able to contact that paper if they are still in business, and ask about the archives!. More than likely, the archives will have been turned over to the repositories of the public libraries!. Call the main libraries for either that county or state and inquire about the obituary archives for 1972!. Then a staff member will research it for you and again, for a fee, send it to you!.
Often, the funeral home and/or cemetery maintained a copy of the obit with the deceased's files!. If you know where the person was buried, contact the cemetery office and ask about the person's files!. Sometimes there is a fee and sometimes not!.
If all else fails, contact a volunteer at http://www!.raogk!.org that may do look ups in that county!. They may be able to help you!.
