Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The suffix "witz" is a variant of any of the following :
vich (Russian, occasionally a respelling of original Serbian, Croatian -vi?) "son of"
-vych (Ukrainian)
-wicz (Polish)
-vi? (Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian)
-vi? (Slovenian, Slovak)
-vitz, -witz, -witch (Germanized or Anglicized respellings, of vich) Www@QuestionHome@Com

My guess would be Hebrew (Jewish)!. Examples are Horowitz or Rabinowitz!. But remember, you cannot always tell someone's nationality by their name, even if their name is clearly from a particular nationality or culture!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Russian!. Not only that, but in the US, there is probably more than 90% probability that the person is also Jewish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Probably Russian but a lot of Jewish names end with witz!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
