go to the library talk to someone about genealogy!. but first gather in writing all the information you can possibly squeeze out of your grandparents, names, dates, marriages, adoptions, name changes of any kind, places born, lived or died in, names of cemeteries, schools, churches, get social security numbers, social security application forms, any and all paperwork with your grand parents names on them!. but grill you grandparent to hell about your great grand!. I say that because looking for ancestors is no picnic especially if you don't have grandparents or older relatives to talk to!. talk to!. you can do a search by social security, death index, birth record etc!. but realize this most people search for relatives can take as long as 50 years or more and even if you don't search that long, you will eventually pay some money for your search!. most library have free search websites other wise you will have to pay!. but you have got a gold mine because your parents and your great grand parents are still living!. start with finding out where they were born, then get their birth certificate it will have your grandparents names spelled correctly on it!. then look at the united states census for the year your grandparents were born until you find your great grand parents!. keep going back every ten years!. census was done in 10 year intervals!. I don't want to use up allot of space to explain so I would advise taking a free genealogy class either on the web or at your library!. oh and by the way !.!.!.you will hit a brick wall and you will get 0 replies at times or most of the times but don't allow yourself to be dismayed just keep searching!. I hope this helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are a few of us here that could help get you started, if you'd like!. If you can get us to 1930 (because that's the last census available) we can go up!. So if you post another question, post your great grandparents names and where they lived!. If you don't know where they lived, ask your grandparents where they were born (include the county and state) and when, so then we would know where your grgrandparents were then!.
