Question: If humans and apes share like 98% of all genes, then how much genes do all humans share!?
More specifically, suppose there was 2 races, how much of the genes would they share the same variant!? Basically, how many genes is needed to determine race!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Firstly we are apes
Secondly all Humans are sub species of Homo Sapien we are called Homo Sapien Sapien and we are one so we all share 100% genes even off by 1% we would not be able to reproduce from each other and not two races cant!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

100%!. If you were, for instance an Argentine who married a Zulu, or a Chinese who married a Cherokee, your children would look like a blend of the two races!. I have no idea how many genes it takes to determine race!. Lots!. Race involves skin color, eye color, head shape, nose shape, hair texture (from the tight kinks of the Africans to the straignt, silk-like fineness of the Asians; us Caucasians are in between the two, especially us Caucasions with rich wavy brown manes!.) Most racial characteristics are physical, and, indeed, the only thing race is good for is to give a quick summation of physical characteristics, as in "The lost scout is a black male, age 14, 5' 6", medium build !. !. !."

Not to be blunt, but if you had sex with a chimp you would not get it pregnant!. You could, on the other hand, mate and produce fertile offspring with a woman from any country, ethnic group or race on earth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

long story short,we are almost genetically identical in the grand scheme of things!. we have the same genes but they express themselves a bit differently, and genes don't influence race, its just varying amounts of melanin that cause the differences in skin tone that people refer to as raceWww@QuestionHome@Com

I was looking at the chimpanzee y chromosome and I've looked at some of the sequence of the human y-chromosome!. I only started and am not going to say that it is the way I think, but it is seeming awfully different so far!. I have yet to actually look at an amount worth looking at!. Maybe more details later!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

More than 98%, of course, but we don't yet really know!. As the genes of more humans get sequenced, we will have a better answer to this!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

humans share 100% of their genetic makeup!. it's like a big erector set, you can make a lot of different stuff using the same parts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
