Question: LDS have you ever found an ancestor
I'm 26 and just started doing family history!. I was tinkering about with one of my ancestors and i actually found 2 people in my family on the 1900 USA census!. It was the coolest thing ever!. I even found out what my great grandfather's job was and he even had a sister in law that stayed in his home!. I wonder how that went!. Prbably very common at that time!. I'm definitely hooked!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I tried as a teenager and was frustrated because my grandparents were not on any released census!. As an adult I found a second cousin on line who had done 12 generations of my father's family!. This happened a few months after I joined the church!. It was a wonderful gift, but then I had to find out about my mother's side alone!. Now I have both Benjamin Franklin and Joseph Smith as distant cousins!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've been researching for 15 years and it's still a thrill to find someone that has been "hiding"!. With so much more online these days, it's getting easier!. Just don't forget to get those original documents, when you can!.

I remember when I did my husband's side I found a bunch of the children living with different relatives and grandparents!. I thought "where are all the parents!?" Then I dug deaper: Well then I found that one brother killed the other, and the wife of the killer died about the same time so the children of both brothers (had many of them) were sent to relatives to live!. The widow (sister-in-law) pleaded for her husband's killer life and he was spared and eventually set free!.
Get stuck!? Post another question on that person, but include a location and dates, please!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
